Reference Answer

(a) Working Principle of a Hyper Mist Fire Suppression System:
Hyper mist fire suppression systems utilize the principle of creating a very fine mist of water droplets, typically in the range of 10-100 microns in diameter. These tiny droplets have a significantly larger surface area compared to the same volume of water in a traditional sprinkler system. This large surface area allows for much more rapid heat absorption and evaporation.
The working principle involves a two-stage process:
Atomization: Water is forced through specially designed nozzles at high pressure, creating the hyper mist. This atomization process breaks the water into extremely fine droplets.
