(a) DOC and SMC (5)

(b) Safety Construction Certificate (5)

(c) Certificate of Registry. (5)

(d) International Load Line Certificate (5)

Reference Answer

### (a) Document of Compliance (DOC) and Safety Management Certificate (SMC)
These certificates are issued under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, which is a mandatory requirement under SOLAS Chapter IX.
**1. Document of Compliance (DOC)**
* **Purpose:** The DOC is issued to the **shipping company or operator** (not the individual ship). It certifies that the company's shore-based Safety Management System (SMS) has been audited and found to be in compliance with the requirements of the ISM Code. It is a prerequisite for the company's ships to be issued with an SMC.
