Natural Aspiration is a method of engine induction where the intake of air into the cylinders is solely dependent on the atmospheric pressure. The downward motion of the piston during the intake stroke creates a sub-atmospheric pressure (vacuum) within the cylinder, causing air from the surroundings to be drawn in through the open intake valve. No external compressor or blower is used to force air into the engine.
