Reference Answer

### (a) Safety Devices on a 2-Stage Air Compressor
Marine two-stage air compressors are high-pressure machines vital for engine starting, control air, and service air. Due to the high pressures and temperatures involved, they are fitted with several critical safety devices to protect the machinery and personnel. A failure in a compressor system can lead to mechanical damage, fire, or even a catastrophic explosion.
