Reference Answer

### (a) Sketch and Description of a 136 Litre Foam Fire Engine
**Principle of Operation:**
The 136-litre chemical foam extinguisher operates on the principle of generating foam through a chemical reaction between an acidic solution and an alkaline solution. This reaction produces Carbon Dioxide (CO₂) gas, which is then trapped in a solution containing a foaming agent, creating a stable foam blanket. The foam extinguishes fire by smothering (cutting off oxygen), cooling, and suppressing the release of flammable vapours.
