Reference Answer

### (a) Sketch of Electric Motor Connections
#### (i) Star (Y) Connection
* **Concept**: In a star connection, one end of each of the three-phase windings is connected to a common point, known as the neutral point (or star point). The other end of each winding is connected to one of the three line terminals.
* **Description**: Imagine three coils (windings) representing the phases R, Y, and B. One terminal from each coil is joined together at a central point, forming the neutral. The remaining three terminals are connected to the three-phase supply lines. This configuration resembles the letter 'Y' or a 'star'.
