### (a) Two-Ram Hydraulic Steering Gear
A two-ram hydraulic steering gear system consists of two single-acting hydraulic cylinders arranged on opposite sides of the tiller arm. The rams are connected by a tiller, which is keyed to the rudder stock. Hydraulic pressure is supplied by an electro-hydraulic pumping unit.
