In this type of speed control, the AC is first converted into DC by the help of diodes/ rectifier bridge.
With the help of an inductor and capacitor the DC is smoothed.
With the help of a SCR (IGBT) circuit, the gate is triggered as per the required frequency and an alternating current is obtained above the base line.
