(a) In series combination, charge on all capacitors is the same but p.d. across each is different.
$$V = V1 + V2 + V3$$
or $${Q\over{C}} = {Q\over{C1}} + {Q\over{C2}} + {Q\over{C3}}$$
or $${1\over{C}} = {Q\over{C1}} + {Q\over{C2}} + {Q\over{C3}}$$
