(a) Essential requirements for any unattended machinery space (UMS) Ship to be able to sail at sea are enumerated in the SOLAS 1974 Chapter II-1, regulations 46 to regulation 53.
Requirements for Unattended Machinery Space (UMS) Ship:
1. Fire Precaution
Arrangements should be provided on the UMS ship to detect and give an alarm in case of fire.
