#### 1. Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP)
ODP is a relative index that quantifies the potential of a chemical substance to cause the depletion of the stratospheric ozone layer.
* **Definition & Benchmark:** The ODP of a gas is calculated as the ratio of the ozone depletion caused by a unit mass of that gas to the depletion caused by the same mass of a reference gas, which is Trichlorofluoromethane (CFC-11 or R-11). By definition, **R-11 has an ODP of 1.0**.
